I have an upcoming initial round for the role of Consultant with Orphoz- a McKinsey Company. Can someone help me by giving some more information about the company. How to prepare, hiring process, work-life balance, benefits? Does it give same learning opportunities as McKinsey?

Depends on which region you are hiring out of, but Orphoz is often treated as the low cost alternative for longer term transformation/operations project staffing

Benefits and WLB: You will be paid lower, but expected to work the same number of hours. Expecations may be lower, but the region where i work out of still expects Orphoz people to at least hit a minimum requirement in toolkit; which i need to emphasize, many many Orphoz consultants do not, and resultingly have counselled out a large number of consultants from the team.

Learning ops: You will get the same learning opportunities, but leaning more towards long term transformation projects rather than strat projects

I worked with Orphoz on several projects across Europe. Compared to McKinsey consultants, they tend to have a slightly better work-life balance. Orphoz typically focuses on longer transformation engagements, with an emphasis on project management.

However, the learning opportunities differ. McKinsey consultants generally work on 3–4 times more projects per year, which provides broader exposure to diverse challenges and industries.

Hi there,

I have written a detailed article on Orphoz. Send me a DM for the link or google "Orphoz Interview." It should be the first page to pop up.

In short, the hiring process is the same as are most other things.

All the best,

Florian

Hey there,

Typically, the hiring process is the same. The work-life balance is slightly geared to better hours because the nature of the work is more on long term transformations as opposed to shorter or more intense strategy work. It will give different learning opportunities related obviously to the work you'll be assigned to.

All the best
