Been invited to first round, they told me someone would write me with a date for the interviews. It’s been a week and no news. Is this normal? How long does it normally take?
How long does it take to confirm dates after being invited to interview at MBB?

Hi there,
Yes, this is perfectly normal. No need to worry/stress.
If it takes another week, feel free to politely follow-up.
Make sure you're already 100% case ready BEFORE they send the invite.

Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on the invitation!
I think this is an interesting question that may be relevant for many people. I would be happy to share my thoughts on it:
- First of all, I would highly advise you not to worry since recruiting processes are currently, unfortunately, slightly longer than normal. While I cannot say for certain the root cause of the slower process speed, I think it is not (yet) necessary for you to reach out to the recruiter.
- However, if you have not received any proposal for the first interview round after around two weeks, I would advise you to reach out to the recruiter - preferably via telephone - and politely inquire about the status of your application.
- Lastly, and this is one aspect you need to ensure, I would highly advise you to have already prepared thoroughly so that you will not end up in a stressful situation in case they invite you for the beginning of next week. While you may, of course, propose a different date for the first interview round, you should still ensure that you stick to your preparation plan.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen

Hi there
this varies quite a bit by office and firm.
Sometimes can take weeks, so usually nothing to worry about. If you don’t hear back soon, suggest you kindly follow up with HR. Sometimes it’s just a process issue, sometimes might fall through the cracks, so just give them a reminder.
Regards, Andi

Hi there,
Yes, it can take a while. Don't read too much into it.
If it's been two weeks then it's totally ok to follow-up.
Best,
Cristian

Hi there,
That's great news, congratulations!
Don't stress about the timing, which is more difficult for recruiting to establish these days than usual. Anything from a day to a month is normal and even beyond that is possible.
Most importantly, you should focus on getting to the right level very quick because you want to be ready when the call comes. Please let me know if there's anything I can help with in that regard.
Best of luck!
Moritz

Yes, it is normal. Sometimes they take 3-4 weeks, although that is a bit too much.
My suggestion would be to reach out after 2 weeks of no contact from them, just as a reminder.
Most importantly, understand that you will have the interview. No doubts about it. So unless you feel you are already prepared (or have some pressing need), you have no reason to try to rush this, quite the opposite, take the time to prepare.

Hello,
This is absolutely normal - I would expect to wait any time between ~1-3 weeks. The firm is just trying to figure out interviewer availability. If it's been longer than 3 weeks and no one has reached out, feel free to reach out to the recruiting team.
