Digital assessment - Ecosystem game

Hi,

I had my digital assessment (McKinsey) and I did well at the plant defense (had above 30 turns in each mini game) but due to lack of time for testing my hypothesis I managed to kill one of the animals in the ecosystem game - therefore my ecosystem was not sustainable in that sense. Does this mean I have failed the game and therefore chances of going to the next stage in the recruitment process are low? What are your experiences in regards to this?

PS: I am quite confident that I chose the right plants, top predator and variables.

Thanks.

Dear candidate, do not worry you might still be making it through. Best regards

Hi there,

From what I've seen 1 animal dying is not a deal-breaker. If you had a logical chain and did well in the Plant Defense then you should still be fine.

Of course, this is all holistically evaluated along with your overall profile (resume, networking/referral, etc.).

Hey there,

Always tricky to diagnose from afar, however, based on your information you could still be in the run due to:

  • Strong results in the plant defense
  • Guess that you chose the rest well
  • Process score (how you approach the problem) is equally important to the product score (the outcome)
  • Solve Game for most offices is only one variable out of many during the screening

Fingers crossed for a positive outcome!

Cheers,

Florian

Hi there,

I helped candidates in the past who did have only 7 species surviving in the Ecosystem Game and passed anyway.

Having said that, it also depends on how you got to the final outcome, as the game evaluates the steps to get there as well.

Good luck!

Francesco
