Bain TestGorilla assessment

Hi there,

Anyone has any experience with the TestGorilla assessment? How similar is it to the Sova assessments? If anyone can share resources and practice modules you can share to prepare for it would be highly appreciated!

Hi there,

Most of these online tests are very similar

Format and content? Somewhat different. What's required from you ability-wise? The same.

The best way is to really find online tests / questions and practice. Regardless as to whether is a new or old test, the principles are mostly the same:

  • Time management (need to think quick)
  • Business knowledge/context (incl key formulas)
  • Critical thinking (answers that are very similar to each other...clues "hidden" in the text)
  • Ability to interpret data/charts

Think of it as a merge of a case and the GMAT/GRE.

You need to be clear on some key case-related and account formulas (margin, growth, breakeven, etc) as well as be good at critically understanding the question (including nuance to questions) and parsing through complicated text with a fair amount of distraction.

You'll also need to be good at chart/graph reading.

The (old) McKinsey PST, BCG Online Test, Bain SOVA test, etc. are all quite similar so leverage resources across all of them.

Hi there!

There are similar in many respects. They basically sit at the crossroads between what a typical case study and a GMAT test.

You can leverage the many examples that exist online for these sorts of tests and this will help you prepare for the test across firms.

Happy to also share a few examples - reach out via DMs.

Sharing also a guide with the typical terms you're likely to come across in consulting interviews:

Best,
Cristian

Hello,

It's similar in the sense that it combines case questions and GMAT/GRE-type questions! While the format may look a little different, the skills it tests and the nature of questions should be quite similar. So it's not a bad idea to use TestGorilla to practice.
