in other words, you want to know whether your profile (5y of engineering  plus an MBA) qualifies you to apply directly for a Consultant (post-MBA) position at Bain?

Yes.

To go in directly as a consultant, you either need an MBA or a PhD or 5 years of relevant work experience. It sounds like you don't only have one of these, but two of them, so you're surely well-positioned.

If you want to be fully sure also check with the recruiter from the office you're targeting.

Best,
Cristian

hi!

Yes, absolutely! With 5 years of engineering experience and an MBA, you’re a strong fit for the Consultant role at Bain. They regularly hire experienced professionals post-MBA into that track. Just make sure to highlight leadership, problem-solving, and any impact-driven work during your engineering years.

Let me know if you want help with your application!

Best,
Alessa

Hi there,

Yes! It helps if it is a target MBA school, if your engineering background was within a known company and if you have been a high performer and can showcase these achievements in your CV/CL (deal breaker).

Best,
