Bain Malaysia - Stages of Interviews & Resources for Online Assessment

Hi all,

As I'm applying to Bain Kuala Lumpur office soon for Associate Consultant position as an experienced hire, appreciate if anyone knows what is the process of the entire application:

1. Cover letter & Resume

2. Online assessment

Question: What is the structure and any recommended resources?

(A) Online multiple choice (25 question) + online HireVue video interview (5 FIT question, 1-2mins to prepare, 4-5mins of answering time)? ; OR

(B) SOVA?

3. Case Interview & FIT

Question: How many rounds of interviews?

As I'm not too sure if some of the questions would be too detailed to ask the recruiter, please share with me if you happen to know. Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • Why would you think the questions are too detailed for a recruiter if they provide you with detailed information about the application process once you have received an invitation either way? This is also part of their job description.
  • So please contact the recruiter as only they will know for sure, especially as application processes in SEA seem to change rather frequently.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming Bain interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Yes, high-level that's it.

But it sometimes differs from office to office.

Your best bet is to ask the recruiter directly.

It's absolutely normal for them to share the structure of the interview with you so you know how to prepare (as opposed to the actual ‘content’ of the interview).

So don't hesitate to ask.

And to also have this conversation with the other firms that you're applying to.

It's fine to ask the recruiter if it is A) or B). Regarding the 1. and 3. points, yes, you will be asked for those.

Interview rounds. It's usually 2 rounds of 2 interviews.

Hi,

Plenty of general resources online that cover decent enough information on CV, CL and resources for online assessment.

The most difficult part however is the Case - and this is what you should focus on. This is the reason why most people fail the interview.
