GOglobal Graduate Program

The GOglobal Graduate Program is a two-year entry-level program and is aimed at excellent university graduates with a background in natural sciences and/or economics who have already gained initial practical experience (for example through internships in management consultancies).

In the first year of the program, you will work together with experienced consultants on various consulting projects and thus quickly acquire a broad base of skills. These include project management, strategic and analytical thinking, customer orientation and communication skills. You will be given joint responsibility for projects from day one.

In the second year, depending on your previous knowledge, skills, and interests, you will then choose three to four different stations within the Merck Group in which you would like to deepen your acquired knowledge. The stations can be completed in all three business sectors of the Merck Group and also internationally at one of Merck's 150 locations. In addition to deepening your acquired knowledge, expanding your own internal network plays an important role.

The entire program is accompanied by a variety of internal and external training courses as well as coaching, sparring, and mentoring, which will deepen and expand your skills in addition to your day-to-day business. This will round off your overall profile as a future talent for Merck.

Upon successful completion, you will take on an exciting position within one of our business units. Depending on your interests, career goals, and business needs, this could include roles in Supply Chain Management, Product Marketing, R&D Strategy, Pricing Management or Business Development.  In this position, you will continue your development as a potential future leader in the organization.

Starting as an Experienced Consultant

With at least 2.5 years of consulting experience at a leading management and strategy consultancy, you can join us as an experienced consultant as a Manager/Senior Manager. In addition to first-class analytical and communication skills as well as experience in leading teams or larger project workstreams, your first points of contact with our focus industries of healthcare, life sciences or electronics are particularly advantageous. 

As a Manager/Senior Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for your projects from day one. You will work on your project, usually together with a Graduate and/or another Consultant, in close coordination with your customers from the Merck Group management. This ensures a high level of visibility. Your interests and skills play a major role in the selection of projects.

The entire program is accompanied by a variety of internal and external training courses as well as coaching, sparring, and mentoring, which will deepen and expand your skills in addition to your day-to-day work. This will round off your overall profile as a future talent for Merck.

As a rule, our experienced consultants take on senior management positions in the company after around two to four years. Similar to the GOglobal Graduate Program, the respective positions vary greatly and depend heavily on the experience, skills and wishes of our experienced consultants.
