I was in the interview process with McKinsey. I had to withdraw right before my R1 round, after a reschedule, due to a personal emergency that would've changed my course entirely; that has since fully resolved. I reached back out around 20 days later to express continued interest, and was told they wouldn't be revisiting my candidacy "at this time." My application still shows as Submitted - in-progress on their portal though, so I'm not sure how firm that door actually is.
Has anyone here gone through something similar : withdrawn for a legitimate reason and successfully gotten back into the process later, whether through timing, a different cycle, or a referral? What actually moved the needle, and is there a point where it's better to just let it go and reapply fresh down the line? Looking for any advice, thanks!
Will this rejection apply to other offices across the world or other roles, say another associate role that's on the portal, too?
The role seems to be tagged from multiple markets - EMEA + NA cities. What do you think the best approach is? Have you seen cases of candidates like me being helped by candidate support?
