What games were tested in McKinsey Solve London this year?

Hi all,

I am about to submit my application for the McKinsey JA position in London. I was wondering what games were tested this year and whether ecosystem is still tested.

Also, I applied to McKinsey 12 months, for the BA position in London and did pretty well in the Solve (got to the second round before being rejected).

Will I still have to do the Solve this year if there is a different set of games tested or since I am applying for a different position (JA vs BA)?

Hi there,

Based on candidate accounts, the games are Red Rock and Sea Wolf.

If you did the test a year ago and since this is a new application, you'll have to redo it.

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:

First of all, for at least six months, McKinsey has opted for the combination of the Redrock Study and the Ocean Treatment games in all regions.
Moreover, contrary to what other coaches have said, you may not need to repeat the McKinsey Solve. I would advise you to reach out to the McKinsey recruiter to know for certain.

Hi there,

Ecosystem is no longer part of Solve and the main games are Red Rock and Sea Wolfe. You're applying to a different role vs. last time so you should expect to take Solve again.

This year’s McKinsey Solve in London included Red Rock Study and Sea Wolf; Ecosystem isn’t always tested. Even if you did Solve for BA before, you’ll likely need to retake it for the JA role. Focus on decision-making, strategy, and handling limited info under time pressure.
