Hi there,

Honestly, not much.

At MBB you will mainly use

  • the internal AI tool
  • Excel with Thinkcell
  • PowerPoint
  • Word (Proposals, knowledge development work)

Sometimes, you might also use Alteryx and Tableau.

Analytics-heavy tasks are usually outsourced to dedicated teams.

Cheers,

Florian

Hi,

There are 2 parts to getting an offer into strategy/management consulting (assuming you are asking about this).

Part 1 → Getting an invite to the interview

Part 2 → Passing the interview rounds

Neither of the above will require any knowledge of specific tools. The case interview is a test of your abilities and thinking.

I studied History in college before I started in consulting, and I had zero knowledge of powerpoint, excel etc. So focus on those instead of building knowledge in specific tools or software which will be tested on the job.

All the best!
