Sent an inquiry email to Mckinsey before applying. No response

Hello,
I have recently sent an inquiry email to a Mckinsey office in western Europe to ask some questions to better craft my application. I mainly gave a brief introduction about myself and asked about the deadline to submit the application since it's not specified on their website. This was around 2 weeks ago.

I'm wondering if it is typical of them to not reply or if they passed a judgement based on the introduction I gave and decided to "discourage" my application. I certainly do feel discouraged.

What do you guys think ?

Thanks!

Hi Anonymous,

If you browse this Q&A forum you will see that the response time is really poor at the moment (not saying it's good or bad, just stating the facts).

Most likely it doesn't mean anything about your application. Just grab your phone and call them to discuss your questions and you will be fine.

Hope this helps - if so, please give it a thumbs-up with the upvote button below!

I know it's frustrating but I wouldn't be discouraged. Which office are you considering? I am sure someone on this forum, if not myself, can give you the email address for a recruiter in that local office.

I understand your discouraging mood. It might happen some times.

What office are you applying at?

Hi there,

Honestly, it's pretty common! They get flooded with emails and really do have to prioritize.

In general, the lack of a reply doesn't mean very much...very easy to overthink things but normally the recipient is just very busy!

Hi, they rarely answer this type of emails.

I suggest that you should reach out directly to a specific recruiter via LinkedIn and make your inquiry more personalized.

Best,

Anton

Hi, Anonymous

I don't think that a lack of response to your message could in any way influence your application. They are either busy for the moment or your questions are not rational/appropriate enough to answer. What did you ask? If it is something along how to maximize my chances etc, don't really expect an answer.
