Hi there,

The MBBs typically pride themselves on being very efficient in the recruiting process. They strive for this to: A) Impress new recruits; B) Try to ensure that new recruits do not accept other offers before a decision is reached.

So what does this mean? Typically, this means that a decision call is conducted within 24 hours of a final interview, or in worst case scenario, within a business week of the final interview.

That being said, there are unfortunately exceptions to these internal guidelines. The two most typical reasons for decision calls being delayed is: A) There is a regional holiday, which means one or more of the decision makers are unavailable (e.g., recruiters themselves); B) One or more of the Partners are unavailable (e.g., due to sick leave or personal reasons) - typically Partners are forced to prioritize recruiting decisions, so if there is a delay it's usually not because the Partner(s) are busy, but because there is some personal reason they are unavailable.

I hope this sheds some light on the process.

PS: If you have waited for more than 2-3 business days to receive an answer, there is nothing wrong with nudging the recruiters for an update (politely)

Sincerely,
Thor

Hi there,

That depends whether you are recruiting on the campus track or the experienced hire track. The campus track is usually faster in announcing the results, compared to the latter.

If you are going through the experienced hire track, sometimes it can take a few weeks. The potential reasons of delay could include: they are interviewing other candidates as well and want to make the choice after they interviewed the full batch; difficulty in getting the interviewers' schedules to debrief / make decision; waiting for the interviewer to make the call of communication to candidate etc. etc.

Best,

Emily

Hi there,

Timelines can vary a bit by office, but for SEA it’s usually around 1–2 weeks after finals for both offers and rejections. Some offices move faster (a few days), others take longer if they’re coordinating across countries. If it’s been over two weeks, it’s totally fine to send a polite follow-up to your recruiter for an update.

I wouldn't say there's a specific way for SEA.

You can expect anywhere between 1 day and 2 weeks for 80-90% of answers across regions.

Hope you hear back soon though!
Best,
Cristian

Hey there, in Southeast Asia most candidates hear back from MBB within 1 to 2 weeks after the final interview. Some get offers the same day, others might wait a bit longer. If it’s been more than two weeks, it’s fine to follow up with your recruiter. best, Alessa :)

Hi,

For Campus, I would say ~2 weeks typically.

For Experienced Hire, unfortunately there have been numerous instances where the process can lapse to 1month++
