Good morning everyone.
I was wondering how the MBB office preference works. What I mean is: When you apply you can select up to 3 offices. Let's say offices A, B, and C.
Now, who does evaluate your profile/test scores during screening? Is there a sort of central review and then offices decide whether to proceed with your application or not, or is the application reviewed directly and independently by each office?
What I'm trying to understand is whether a rejection means that all the three offices have received and reviewed your application, or whether - for example - once your first office of choice (or a sort of central screening staff) decides you're “not good enough for MBB”, you just get rejected.
I'm just curious. Thanks!
For instance, I applied for a BA role at McKinsey London (1st choice). But they notified me that all the position for BAs in London were already taken.
My application is still active though. Can I assume they will send it to my second office of choice?
I also have a senior partner referral, so it would be very sad to be rejected just because the London office is not hiring BAs at the moment.
Thank you again.
