The best thing you can do is check with your referrer. Things change and are often different across regions. Just directly ask your referrer what to expect (as in, clarify if you need to do anything)

There are differences between regions. 

For an office like London, if I remember correctly, it was done centrally through a system. For smaller offices, it's usually done via email (from the consultant referring you to HR).

I believe that is the case - once you have been referred by someone at the company, you should receive an email with a bespoke link to apply. Though this may vary between regions.
