Kearney London Recruitment

Hi everyone,

I applied for the Business Analyst role at Kearney in November and followed up with HR. They said applications are still under review and that mine will be considered.

Should I still be hopeful, or should I keep applying elsewhere? I know the UK job market is tough right now, so I’d love to hear any advice or experiences from others.

Thanks!

Hi there,

4 months is a long period of time. I believe your application is still valid based on HR response, but definitely go for other companies until they return with additional information.  Either you’ll have more experience with interviews before they get back to you, or you’ll have different opportunities in case Kearney doesn’t work, nothing to lose here.

Good luck!

Best,

Mari

Hello,

It’s great that HR confirmed your application is still under review, but given that it’s been several months since you applied (November), I’d keep applying elsewhere while staying open to a response from Kearney.

The UK job market is indeed tough, and consulting firms often move in waves when it comes to hiring. Some candidates experience delays due to fluctuating headcount needs. If you haven’t already, consider networking with current Kearney consultants in London to potentially get more insight into hiring timelines.

For now, assume the process is moving slowly and focus on other applications—it’s always better to have multiple options.

Let me know if you’d like recommendations on similar firms to target!

Best,

Evelina

Even if Kearney ends up inviting you to the interviews or not, apply to other firms.

Even with the interview, you still need to pass the process and secure the offer—so the more you diversify, the better.

Also, try to apply through referrals, as they help accelerate the recruiting process.

I would even recommend trying to get a referral from someone at Kearney to gain insider information on why your application might be delayed (e.g., hiring freeze, high pipeline, etc.).

Best,

Alberto

Hi there,

They are likely not sure how hiring demand will develop, hence keep people in the loop. Overall, not a good sign.

I'd definitely broaden the scope of applications to MBB, other T2 firms, etc.\

All the best,

Florian

would not put all of my eggs into that basket. I would reach out to other firms as well.

"Should I still be hopeful, or should I keep applying elsewhere?"

Yes, you should be hopeful.

And yes, you should keep applying elsewhere. Being hopeful does not prevent you from planning for the negative scenarios, right?

Hey there ?,

Totally understand the uncertainty—if HR said your application is still under review, that’s definitely a positive signal and not an auto-rejection. But at the same time, given how competitive London consulting roles are this year, I’d still recommend you keep applying elsewhere in parallel.

That way you don’t lose momentum, and if Kearney does come back with good news, you’ll have options to compare ?

If you’d like help with application strategy or prepping for interviews across firms, I’d be happy to support!

Best,
Alessa ?

Hi there,

Q: Should I still be hopeful, or should I keep applying elsewhere?

It doesn’t look very promising, considering 4 months have already passed. It doesn’t mean they will reject you, but I would recommend expanding the list of target firms, if not done already.

Good luck!
