I have an Interview for the Strategy & Operations Consultant at 8th Advisory for the German Offices? What can I expect, is any one familiar with the process?

Congrats, Kunal! In general, strategy consulting interviews is almost always a combination of case/market sizing (which is a type of case) /fit interviews. I believe you can expect a process broadly similar to MBB-style interviews

The core components are usually:

  • Case Interview – Most important. Expect standard case types:
    • Market sizing: Test your logic and comfort with estimation.
    • Profitability / growth strategy: Can you structure clearly and drive toward actionable insight?
    • M&A / commercial due diligence-style cases may come up, given their transaction focus.
  • Fit/Behavioral Questions – Typically short and pragmatic. Be ready to walk through your CV and show structured thinking even in “tell me about a time” answers.

The bar may be slightly more execution-oriented than MBB, but the interview expectations are equally rigorous — clear communication, business logic, and confidence under pressure.

Hope it helps!

Hi Kunal

Congrats on being invited to the interview.

The interview process is rather similar across consulting firms, but I would strongly recommend that you reach out to the recruiter to clarify how exactly it will be run for you. There are slight differences between roles and offices, so it's worth knowing this well enough to be able to tailor your prep. Once you know, feel free to come back and share it with us so we can give you a more helpful reply.

Best,
Cristian

Assume a regular case interview. But better than asking here is to ask them directly.
