How to avoid no-shows when practicing cases on PrepLounge?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been facing a frustrating situation: I scheduled some case practice sessions with other members on PrepLounge, but several times my partners didn’t show up or canceled at the very last minute. This wastes my preparation time and affects my overall practice plan.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? What do you usually do to reduce the risk of no-shows?

Should I only choose practice partners who have good reviews or more experience? Or is there any effective way to remind each other and keep everyone accountable?

I’d really appreciate any tips or experiences you can share so that every practice session can be more reliable and productive!

Thank you all so much!

Hi Leroy,

Thanks for raising this topic.

From our side, we recommend reaching out to your practice partner briefly before scheduling a session (or right after accepting one from the Meeting Board). A quick message to align on expectations – for example, which case you'd like to do, how far along you both are in your preparation, or any specific focus areas – can really help ensure both sides are on the same page and committed.

If the meeting was scheduled a while ago, sending a short personal reminder on the day of the session is also a good idea.

In addition to that, PrepLounge automatically sends reminders to both candidates before the meeting – but a quick personal follow-up often makes a difference.

As Mihir mentioned, the Reliability score is also a helpful metric to identify reliable partners, especially for more structured and consistent practice.

If you have any specific questions or ideas, feel free to reach out to us anytime!

Best regards,
Charlotte from the PrepLounge Team

I’d suggest picking users with a high reliability score to mitigate this risk.

Do consider working with a coach too - significantly more useful than peer practice :)

Hi Leroy,

I really understand your frustration.

As a coach, I never had a candidate not showing up. I would advise to only pick candidates who have a high reliability score. If you have cased with a reliable candidate, you can always recommend this person to other reliable Preplounge users.

Let me know if you require help with the preparation.

Hi there!

I hear this very often from candidates.

My recommendation is to first try a few peers until you find 1-2-3 that are actually reliable and give good feedback. Then try and meet more regularly with those ones rather than always randomly working with someone knew. This will make the process more predictable and efficient.

There's also always the added risk of 'the blind leading the blind', so make sure that you validate the feedback you receive from peers with someone who has more experience.

Best,

Cristian
