Could you share your recommendations for books that could enhance business knowledge and also aid in preparing for case interviews?
Business books

Hi,
There are tons of good books/materials online to prepare for the case interviews. My top 3 recommendations are:
- Case in Point - Marc Cosentino
- Case Interview Secrets - Victor Cheng
- The Ultimate Case Interview Workbook - Taylor Warfield
Good luck with the prep!

Hello there,
Agree with Cristian.
You can read the Economist as stated above to bee up to date on economics and business world as a whole. I would also recommend you to read the articles on McKinsey and Bain websites.
However, a more targeted approach is needed for you to develop business sense. Take business cases from case books and try to connect them to what you have read so far about the industry/case type. If you have no clue, research and tackle the cases again with the new knowledge. Brainstorming questions are great to do that.
The point here is transform what you read into action, so that you are able to make sense of it.
Best,
Mari

Hi there,
If you're looking to improve your business knowledge, I recommend The Economist.
However, consulting inteviews don't really test for knowledge, but skills (unless you are applying for an expert / specialist role).
In terms of books that actually prepare you for case studies, none of the ones out there are particularly great. The approach taken by older ones (e.g., Victor Cheng) is not favoured by current interviewers.
Best,
Cristian

I would also very much recommend listening to business podcasts in addition to the reading materials shared above.
In particular things like, The Journal/BusinessWise Weekly (news) or The Diary of a CEO (case studies) work well for this.

Hot take is that the recommendations above are not the best reads. If you want to learn how to problem solve like a consultant, this is the best one I've come across in the last decade:
Bulletproof Problem Solving: The One Skill That Changes Everything (Charles Conn, Robert McLean) -- it's less about breaking down case interviews and more about solving real-world problems
