Hello, I received today a rejection email from BCG after taking the caseychat bot. I am disappointed as I prepared well for this assessment and this would be the second time I do not get passed. I still see that in my BCG portal it still shows as "Application Submitted", could the rejection email be a mistake? If not, how long do I have to wait to apply again. Thanks! (Note: This is for BCG Argentina)

BCG Rejection

Hi!
I am so sorry!
Defintely reach out to HR to find out the cooling off period - normally it's between 6m and 12m.
I imagine it will be 6m if it's CV round. But it depends, so ask!
Good luck and happy to chat!

Hi there,
I am so sorry for this outcome!
Probably the system was not updated yet. Cool off period is usually 12months, feel free to reach out to HR to see if there is a way for you to apply earlier.
Best,
Mari

Hi,
It is unlikely the rejection email is a mistake.
While unfortunate and disappointing, don't give up, and you can always try again and also for other firms.
All the best!

Unfortunately, the email is unlikely to be a mistake. Sorry to hear it.
However, you may still have a good chance with many other consulting firms, so my advice would be to keep trying.

Hi,
Sorry to hear.
It seems the online platform is not updated yet.
You can always check with HR via email.

Hi there,
First of all, I am sorry to hear about the rejection from BCG!
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:
- First of all, if you received an official rejection email, it's very unlikely that it was sent by mistake, even if the portal still says "Application Submitted" - this status often doesn't update in real-time or can lag behind the actual decision.
- Moreover, the ban period is typically 12-18 months long. This also means that you should continue working on your profile during that time, even if BCG has invited you. I would also strongly advise you to consider working with an experienced coach like me for the BCG Casey pre-interview assessment next time.
You can find more on this topic here: How to deal with a rejection from a consulting company.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Hola!
Although the answer to your question is best positioned for the recruiting team, I did a search for some other career opportunities in your region that you might perhaps be open to consider? e.g., McKinsey
Let me know if there's any way I can be of help.

Phenyo

I'm sorry to hear. That must be frustrating.
It could be a mistake, but most likely it isn't. Most likely, the online portal is not yet updated, but formally you were rejected.
I know it's frustrating, but it's worth taking a step back to understand what happened and what you could do differently going forward (especially since it happened the second time).
For now, I'd recommend you try and apply to other firms. You might find this guide helpful:
