Hello! I am currently interviewing at McKinsey and BCG in of their Latin American offices. I am from the country but currently working at a T2 firm in the US. I finished already Solve, which I found relatively easy. I have the Casey chatbot interview on Sunday and I am having trouble preparing for it, what resources I can use to study for the assessment in a short amount time? Could my resume offset a poor Casey chatbot performance? This would be for entry-level roles.
McKinsey and BCG LATAM

Hello,
On YouTube, there are some good videos by ManagementConsulted, PrepMatter, and MConsultingPrep on how to succeed here.
Your score on the Casey test will be combined with your CV when BCG decide who to interview, so it’s very important to get a good score.
Best of luck.

Hi there,
Q: What resources I can use to study for the assessment in a short amount time? Could my resume offset a poor Casey chatbot performance?
You need to reach a certain score to pass the assessment, regardless of the rest of the application material.
I provided some information below on the assessment.

The BCG Online Case (also called Casey Chatbot Interview) is an 8-10 questions test BCG now used globally. It is structured in 2 parts:
- 8-10 questions to be taken in 35 minutes (in its new version, before it was 25-30 minute)
- 1 video interview question at the end, where you usually have to provide a recommendation

If you want to prepare further for the online case, I created a software simulation that replicates exactly the chatbot and one-way video interview.
It includes the following and more:
- 4 Casey Software Simulations of the Chatbot. These are live chatbots simulating exactly the same chatbot environment of the test (meaning you will receive questions from an actual chatbot with a flow equivalent to the one of the test).
- 4 One-Way Video Interviews. These come with Artificial Intelligence reports, so that you can see how the software will perceive your performance in terms of voice, speech clarity, energy and more.
- 2 PDF Simulations of the Chatbot. These are additional tests Casey-style, meaning you will have 6 different Casey Chatbots to train with overall.
- Free access to 6 PSTs and Potential Tests for further practice.
- Deep explanation of all the 5 types of questions asked in the BCG Online Case thanks to the complimentary 144-page guide.
You can get immediate access to the software simulation and guide at the link below:

Good luck!

Hi there!
Thanks for the overview.
Re Casey - I would suggest you search in the Q&A library. There are lots of posts on this that can lead you to specific resources. By now, you can also use ChatGPT for this, to suggest how to prepare and how Casey actually works. In general, if you've already done live cases, Casey will feel very similar, and you're likely to perform well.
Can a strong CV compensate for a low score on Casey? Yes, to a certain extent. A strong cover letter and a referral can also help. The decision is made taking all of this into account.
Best of luck with the prep!
Best,
Cristian

Hi,
Your resume would not be relevant anymore after you are invited to the process.
In terms of resources, preplounge has several articles, but best to get in some live practice, and you can try and find peers or a coach on this platform to help you.
All the best!

Hello!
Great that you’ve already done Solve and are moving forward! For the Casey chatbot, focus on practicing quick mental math, interpreting graphs, and structured communication under time pressure. The best prep in a short time: use free case drills (Victor Cheng or CaseCoach), do GMAT-style chart interpretation questions, and rehearse answering questions out loud clearly and concisely. Also, check YouTube for Casey-specific walkthroughs to get used to the format.
Your strong resume and US T2 background definitely help, but for entry-level roles, the chatbot is still a filter. So best to prep efficiently to avoid it being a blocker.
Let me know if you'd like to practice a few sample questions together!
best,
Alessa :)

Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application processes with McKinsey and BCG thus far!
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:
- First of all, the BCG Casey pre-interview assessment is essentially a case study that you solve on your own. As such, I would strongly advise you to focus your preparation on practicing case studies with peers, an experienced coach like me and on your own, as this is the best way to prepare for it.
- Moreover, in case you can get your hands on authentic BCG Casey sets, this could help you further.
- Lastly, unfortunately, your application files are unlikely to offset poor performance on the BCG Casey pre-interview assessment.
You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on authentic BCG Casey sets, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen
