BCG Online Assesment

Hello

I recently finish the BCG online assessment, I did great in the discovery and asking questions but I know I messed up in 2 parts of a question in the Quant part, I also didn't manage to give the next steps on my recommendation as it was cut short, other than that, everything else went great. Would this hurt my chances badly of being invited to the next round?

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the progress in the application process with BCG thus far!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • Unfortunately, no one can seriously answer whether your performance was strong enough. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it was.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming BCG interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

Impossible to tell.

But what's certain is that the assessment is not the only thing that matters.

They look also at your CV, CL, and referral (if applicable) and then they decide whether to invite you to the first round.

In the meantime, it would make sense to get started on other applications as well, to diversify your chances a bit more.

Here's a guide on how to build an application strategy:

Hi there,

Q: Would this hurt my chances badly of being invited to the next round?

From what you shared, two of the questions were not particularly good, especially the math one. If the rest was done very well, this could still be a pass. So overall, it depends on the rest of the answers.

Good luck!

Francesco

Hey!

No need to worry too much. It’s totally normal to make small mistakes in the quant part or run out of time for the last steps. What matters more is your overall performance, especially in areas like structured thinking, communication, and business judgment. If the rest went really well, a few weaker moments won’t necessarily hurt your chances. Fingers crossed, and let me know how it goes!

best,
Alessa :)

Hey,

It’s hard to know - it could go either way.

In your shoes, I’d suggest focusing on case and interview prep, since the outcome of the online assessment is not something you can control any more.

Let me know if you’d like some help.

Hi there,

In addition to what was said, start preparing for the case interviews, as they may be scheduled with a short window period (1-2 weeks).

Good luck!
