BCG R2 Waiting?

Hi! Wanted to share this on another platform so I could potentially get more insights.

I interviewed BCG SA Intern R2 (Final) almost two weeks ago now (Fri 8/1). I couldn't fully gauge how it went, but the first interviewer called me an hour after the interview, much to my surprise! He told me 1) wanted to keep me in the loop that they're waiting a bit to finalize details as there is a second wave of interviewers in Sep, 2) he had a fun time casing with me and he congratulated me on doing a great job, and 3) the recruiter would evaluate as soon as possible to solidify offers.

Some more context:

  • First interview went pretty well, second interview, however, had very tricky behaviorals and pretty sure I missed a part on the math. I connected relatively well with the first interviewer, not super well with my second to my disappointment :(
  • I had been in contact with the recruiter and a couple other folks in the office, if that matters
  • I KNOW that we aren't the best judges of how our interview went, so there's that too

I interviewed for a smaller office, so this could have maybe been the cause of some delays. I followed up the Monday three days after the interview to both my first interviewer and the office recruiter, no response from either. I'm starting to feel discouraged because I have seen if the candidate is a SOLID yes, they call the same day, so it sounds a bit like a waitlist/soft reject situation?

I have been trying to keep myself busy and applying to other firms and whatnot but part of me is still a bit anxious! Anyone have similar experiences/advice from previous cycles? Thanks so much and apologies for the long post!

I know this is tough.

I waited for about 10 days after my final round with McKinsey and it's still very clear in my mind how uncomfortable those 10 days were.

If you've followed up with them already, and they have already informed you that it will take a while, you can't do anything but wait.

The only constructive and smart thing you can do is to either look around at other places you could apply to or rest.

Hope you hear from the soon!
Best,
Cristian

Following up on Christian’s message, when recruiting myself some of the time between the interview and receiving the feedback had even been materially longer than two weeks. In my experience, this is not necessarily a good nor a bad sign so also no need for you to overly panic at this point in time. However, I can only echo his further advice on what I’d recommend you to do next.
