There were two first round interviews planned for the bcg internship and one was postponed to another date before the interviews. Then I had my first interview in the evening and early the next morning I was informed that the other interview was cancelled due to an important client meeting and that we would be in touch after the feedback of the interview I had received. There was a public holiday in between and when I checked the website this afternoon, the application status showed interviews in progress but the application status said application not selected after evening working hours. Why weren't two interviews held or why didn't HR call today (the last incident happened on Friday)
Bcg application status

Hello there,
It may be a system problem, as two interviews per round are required to evaluate each candidate.
I advise you to reach out to HR immediately to let them know and fix the issue.
Good luck in the upcoming interview, fingers crossed!
Best,
Mari

That's quite confusing - agreed...
- Interview cancellations sometimes signal early rejection, if feedback from the first round was not strong, the second interview may be quietly dropped
- “Application not selected” likely reflects an internal decision that was updated on the portal before HR had a chance to reach out directly
- Public holidays and timing (Friday afternoon + weekend) often delay official communication, but if the status has changed, the outcome is likely final
I definitely recommend reaching out to Recruiting and asking for clarity. Fingers crossed it still works out for you!

Hey there 😊
thanks for sharing all the context – I totally get how confusing and frustrating this must feel 💭 Timing and status updates during recruiting can often be misaligned, especially around public holidays or last-minute client demands.
That said, it is unusual not to complete both interviews before making a final call. Sometimes one strong (or weak) interview can sway the process early, but ideally HR should’ve communicated more clearly 📞
Don’t hesitate to kindly reach out for clarification – and if you’d like, I’m happy to support you with feedback review or next steps in your journey 💡
Best, Alessa
