applied to mckinsey london workshop, haven't received digital assessment

Hi! I applied to the McKinsey london workshop  a few days ago (less than a week) but haven't received the digital assessment link. How long do they typically send them out? After what amount of time should I send an email to them asking about this, since I think its part of the application (ie everyone has to do it) and not an assessment? Would love to hear any thoughts thankyou!

Hi there,

It’s normal not to get the digital assessment link immediately – McKinsey often batches these and sends them out a bit later, especially for workshops or events where timelines may differ from standard full-time applications. A few days isn’t long at all, so I wouldn’t worry yet.

As a rule of thumb:

  • Give it about 1–2 weeks from your application date before following up.
  • If you haven’t heard anything by then, a polite email to recruiting is absolutely fine – just frame it as wanting to confirm whether there are any next steps you should be preparing for.

For now, I’d hold off and use the time to get familiar with the digital assessment format so that you’re ready whenever it comes through. I also have good resources to suggest that have worked for other students to pass the McKinsey test – feel free to reach out so I can share.

Best,
Evelina

Hey there :)

No need to worry, it’s very normal that McKinsey takes a bit of time to send out the Solve/digital assessment link after you apply. For workshops and recruiting events, they often batch applicants and then send the link all at once, sometimes even a week or two later. You don’t need to chase them after just a few days.

A good rule of thumb: if you haven’t received anything after about two weeks, you can drop a polite note to recruiting to check that your application is complete. Until then, it’s completely normal not to hear back.

best,
Alessa :)

Don't worry. It can take even a couple of weeks.

If a month has gone by and you haven't heard back, then it's worth dropping them a polite email.

Best,
Cristian
