Hi! I was wondering what the difference is between the 2. I think they have similar requirements and similar lengths, if i applied to the one without summer on the name does that mean i wont be considered for summer analyst?
McKinsey summber business analyst intern vs business analyst intern

Hey!
The difference is usually just the timing. The “Summer Business Analyst” role is the structured 8–10 week internship during the summer recruiting cycle (mainly for undergrads finishing in a year). The “Business Analyst Intern” role can cover other internship formats that McKinsey offers (sometimes off-cycle, sometimes during different times of the year, depending on office). The requirements and work are basically the same.
If you want to be considered for the official summer internship, you should apply to the “Summer Business Analyst” posting. If you apply to the “Business Analyst Intern” one, you might be considered for off-cycle internships, but not necessarily for the summer program.
If you are eligible and aiming for the classic summer internship, apply for that one directly.

Hi there,
The Summer Business Analyst Intern role is McKinsey’s structured 8–10 week summer program, which is the main pipeline to a full-time offer. The generic Business Analyst Intern posting is broader – it can include summer but also off-cycle internships depending on office and region.
If you want the formal summer program, make sure you apply directly to the Summer Business Analyst Intern role. The general posting won’t always get you considered for the summer track unless recruiting redirects you.

Hi there,
Q: McKinsey summer business analyst intern vs business analyst intern. I was wondering what the difference is between the 2.
Unless you see a different job description, I believe the main difference should be the time of year (summer versus any other period).
If you want to be considered for the summer internship, I would recommend applying for the summer business analyst intern position. If you apply for the business analyst intern position, they might not consider you for the summer period.
Good luck!
Francesco

There shouldn't be any difference.
Both of them are entry-level intern roles.
The summer one might be called this way because it's only over the summer, whereas the other one means that the internship could take place at other times of the year.
If it's important, it's worth checking directly with the recruiter to validate.
Best,
Cristian
