Hi everyone, does anyone have insights or experience with interviews at AlixPartners for the Consultant – Technology Modernization position?
In the next step, I’ll be meeting with two Vice Presidents from the Technology Modernization team. Do you have any idea what kind of questions they might ask—whether they'll focus more on my past experience or on business cases related to the Tech Modernization space?
AlixPartners - Technology Modernization Consultant Interviews

Hi,
I had helped some prepare for a Tech related role for MBB. In general you can expect 2 themes of questions as you pointed out:
- Past experience - my coachees had to talk about the projects in detail that they did to demonstrate they had the relevant expertise and experience
- Case interview focusing on tech - this will be a business problem, likely a project the interviewer has done / is doing now and given as a case interview
- Expect to show all the common skills tested in a case interview here including Structuring, Quantitative Thinking, Business Judgment
All the best!

Hi there!
I've prepped candidates for AlixPartners before, though I don't remember exactly if any of them went for the Tech Modernization role.
Nevertheless, ask the recruiter directly whether the interviews will contain generic cases or whether they will also test your technical knowledge. Typically they let you know if that's the case, but it's still good to double check.
Best,
Cristian

Hey there :)
Since your friend is a VP at AlixPartners, you already have some insider perspective, which is great. From what I know, the interviews for Technology Modernization Consultant usually mix behavioral questions about your past experience with case-style discussions related to tech transformation, system upgrades, or process optimization. Be ready to explain your role in past projects, demonstrate problem-solving, and discuss how you’d approach modernization challenges from a business and technical angle.
best, Alessa :)
