Morgan Stanley follow-ups

Hey,

I had my first round for Morgan Stanley IBD and I’m expecting a follow-up if all goes well.

For anyone who’s made it to later rounds, how do the questions evolve? Are the second or third rounds more technical, or do they shift toward fit and deal experience if you have some? Also curious how consistent the interviewers are across different offices.

Hi! Congrats on passing the first round .That’s a great step! Later rounds at Morgan Stanley usually get more technical and dig deeper into your deal experience, but fit questions remain important too. Interview styles can vary a bit across offices, but the main focus tends to be consistent.

If you want to polish your prep, working with a coach for some targeted feedback on both technical and fit questions could really help.

Good luck with the next steps!

Congrats on making it through round one!

Rita already said it, at Morgan Stanley, later rounds typically go deeper on both technicals and fit.

You may get more nuanced questions on valuation, merger modeling, or past deal experience (if applicable), as well as judgment-based scenarios like “Would you do this deal?”

Expect more senior interviewers (VPs/MDs) in follow-ups, with a stronger focus on how you think and communicate under pressure. Format and intensity can vary a bit by office, but the core themes stay consistent. Know your story, your technicals, and why MS.
