Will I be banned from McKinsey if I withdraw my application after completing Quanthub assessment?

Hi,

I recently applied to McKinsey for a full time position and received a QuantHub test link and completed it successfully. However, I just found out that there is a cooling period of 1-2 years at McKinsey. I plan to go to a b-school next summer and now I am really confused if I withdraw my application or get rejected in the interview now will my resume not be considered for McKinsey's on-campus recruiting?

Hi there,

It depends on 2 things:

  1. The time between applications. 1 year is usually just an estimate and depending on the office/location/personal situation this can vary
  2. Improvements on your resume. If you add a b-school to your resume that would be considered a significant development that usually warrants a new invite

The easiest and most direct way to clarify and deal with this is to talk to HR. Email (preferably call) them and discuss your situation. They are here to help and support candidates before, during and after the application. :-)

All the best,

Florian
