Not getting informed = rejection?

It’s been 63 days since I applied to McKinsey, and I haven’t got any email from them. If it’s been 63 days without any information, is it almost certain that I am not passing their CV screening? Has anybody pass the cv screening but get informed more than 63 days?

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear, if your candidate profile does not give any indication, I would suggest making a kind follow-up with recruiting.

Waiting this long is definitely unusual.

Let's see - keep hopes high but also look for other opportunities.

Best of luck!

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the long waiting time. Regarding your question:

Q: If it’s been 63 days without any information, is it almost certain that I am not passing their CV screening?

Not necessarily, there might be other reasons for the delay. I would recommend reaching out to HR to ask for an update.

Good luck!

Hi,

Like the other coaches suggested, do reach out to HR/Recruiting team.

If you don't have their email address, search on Linkedin for the Recruiting head for the specific office that you applied for.

Then send them a Connect, but click "Add a note" and request feedback there for your application.

Good luck!

That must be frustrating.

It's unusual indeed, but I've also worked with candidates who were in the recruitment funnel for 18 months and sometimes waited for months between rounds.

To put your concerns to rest, just follow-up politely with them. And aside from this, start putting your energy in other applications to diversify your risk.

Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

the best way is to just follow up with the recruiting team directly. No good consulting company is doing "silent rejections". There may be other reasons for the holdup but all we could do here is speculate.
