T2 Strat - Last interview round got cancelled, waiting for recruiters feedback

Hi guys,

I’m currently in the interview process with a T2 strategy firm. My final/4th interview round should have taken place yesterday, however, the interviewer cancelled the invite shortly after I was waiting for the interviewer to join the call. The interviewer mentioned he will send me a separate email but since then I haven’t heard anything from the interviewer. Tbh I’m a bit puzzled atm and not too sure what it means. Is that a sign for a rejection? Or are they currently making up their mind about who to hire and waving away the last round? Website says usually there are 3 or 4 interview rounds.

Hi there,

From someone who's been on the other side, unfortunately, whilst the interview is probably the most important thing in your day, for the interviewer it is one of 5-10 important meetings/things they need to do. Honestly chances are that something urgent came up for a client etc.

However, there is a chance all of the possibilities that you listed are true, so my advice would be to call the recruiter and ask them what is going on and if/when it will be rescheduled.

Yep unfortunately have had this happen to me a couple times. It's anxiety inducing but usually the interviewer has just been caught up

Hi there,

Don't be concerned. Most likely something came up, perhaps even some personal, and the interviewer couldn't take the call anymore. They are probably now in the process of finding another slot for you.

Best,

Cristian

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear this, that must have been frustrating! My guess is that something urgent came up for the interviewer, as others here are suggesting too. I would recommend reaching out to recruiting to help you understand what is going on and when you can expect to have your next interview.

It sounds like your interviewer behaved poorly. Cancelling an interview after it was due to start and not following up is bad form. Reach out to the recruiting team and ask them for clarification. I suspect that this doesn’t mean anything except your interviewer was super busy, didn‘t demonstrate respect towards you and hasn’t spoken yet to recruiting about it.

Hi there,

This seems quite unprofessional, even more as it seems they didn’t provide any reason and canceled after the interview should have started.

Q: Is that a sign for a rejection?

Very unlikely. Most likely the person that should have interviewed you was unable to attend. If you don’t hear from them shortly, I would recommend to call HR to verify what should be the next steps.

Best,

Francesco

Looks like they are just postponing the interview. Wait a couple of days and then send a friendly reminder to reschedule the interview.
