Hey guys!

I'd really appreciate your answers to my two questions:

1) How is the Roland Berger internship interview day like? Any special fit questions, Case style + topics…

2) I've done 20+ live cases so far and thought it would be great to practice with someone, who is also going to have his/her RB interview at the end of March. So - hit me up :))

Cheers,

Benedikt

Hi Benedikt,

I think this is an interesting question that may be relevant for many people. I would be happy to share my thoughts on it:

  • First of all, I would highly advise you not to limit your preparation based on any information about Roland Berger's preferences. While every strategy consulting company has official guidelines as to how interviews are scheduled, they seldom detail specific personal fit questions or case studies.
  • Still, you can expect Roland Berger to put you under pressure during the personal fit part, and possibly during the case study part as well, which is something seemingly very typical for their interviews.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to address your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi Benedikt,

Please try not to “play this game"!

The more you try to predict the worse you will do.

It sounds counter-intuitive but it is true. There aren't going to be special fit quesitons. There isn't going to be a specific case style/topic.

every. interviewER. is. different.

Therefore, you need to build up the core case solving/consulting toolkit. Then, you need to practice being adaptable, agile, and adjustable where you know how to approach solving any case type/problem/style/topic.

Here's some reading to hopefully help:
