How to Prepare for Roland Berger Online Test?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently preparing for interviews at Roland Berger, and I heard that there's an analytical test as part of the selection process. I’d really appreciate it if anyone who has recently taken it could share some insights on:

  • Any recommended prep materials or platforms (free or paid)?
  • And any general tips or traps to watch out for?

I’ve seen mixed info online so I’d love to hear directly from those with recent or first-hand experience. Thanks a lot in advance and good luck to everyone preparing for RB!

Hey :)

I worked at Roland Berger and happy to help you prepare! The online test usually focuses on analytical thinking, data interpretation, and basic math under time pressure. It’s not super complex, but speed and accuracy matter. Practicing GMAT-style questions (especially data sufficiency and word problems) can help a lot. Platforms like SHL or TalentQ are often used, so those kinds of logic and numerical reasoning exercises are great prep.

Biggest trap is spending too long on one question — it’s better to move on and come back if time allows. And always double-check units and percentages!

Let me know if you’d like to do a mock or go through some examples together!

Best,
Alessa :)

Hi there,

Roland Berger test is GMAT-style, focusing on data interpretation, quant reasoning, and logic.

Best prep resources:

  • GMAT Club (free)
  • Target Test Prep or Magoosh (paid)
  • MBA.com for official GMAT samples

Tips:

  • Practice under time pressure
  • Focus on accuracy with percentages, ratios, and logic traps
  • Get comfortable with graphs and word problems

If you’re solid on GMAT-style quant, you’ll be well prepared. Let me know if you want help reviewing your prep.

Best,

Evelina

Hi there,

The RB test is actually very similar to the Kearney one and similar to the old McKinsey PST.

Meaning, you have examples of resoning, chart interpretation and calculations.

You can find lots of examples online. The more you practice, the higher you'll score, so I do recommend you invest some time in it.

Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

Here’s how to prepare for the Roland Berger's Korn Ferry Assessment — whether you want to do it for free or are willing to invest a bit.

Free resources (if you don’t want to pay): mconsultingprep.com

Paid resources (used by some of my mentees who passed): jobtestprep.co.uk

These simulate the actual test environment and come with guided explanations — super useful if you want to optimize your score quickly.

Don’t underestimate this test. It’s part of the filter that decides who even gets to interview. Practice under real timing conditions and review your mistakes carefully.

Best,

Alberto

You have already received some good answers from other coaches.

I would second the point about the importance of accuracy in your math (i.e., fractions, percentages, etc.). My understanding is that RB is quite quant-focused in their interviews.
