Risk of asking MBB firm for a 6-Month deferral to do PE internship?

I would say, ask for the deferral and structure your reasoning, worst thing that can happen is for them to say “no”, but they will not take back the offer just because of an honest request.

I suggest you ask to postpone your start date, while ensuring you communicate that your MBB role remains your top priority.
