Hi everyone,

I was wondering if it'd be possible for someone to take a quick glance at my resume.

I'm applying to MBB via the APD program and haven't got a clue if my resume is any good, as I've never worked in that field.

Hi Paul,

Q: I was wondering if it'd be possible for someone to take a quick glance at my resume.

Many coaches offer a CV review as part of their coaching. You can check if there is an option for that on their profiles here.

For general CV suggestions, you can check this:

▶ How to Craft a Great CV for Consulting

The process I personally recommend during sessions is the following:

  1. You send your CV before the class
  2. We review it together during the class. I recommend the changes to do step by step
  3. You work on the recommended improvements after the class and adapt the doc accordingly
  4. You send back the CV. I review it and provide suggestions on anything needed more (no additional bookings needed)
  5. You review and change it accordingly
  6. If needed you send it back as long as needed (no follow-up limit)

All the steps are included in the initial booking, including the unlimited follow-ups.

Hi Paul,

Plenty of coaches here who can help you to do that. Happy to take a quick glance and give some high level pointers.

Do note that if you do end up having your CV reviewed by multiple people, you may get slightly different (sometimes even contradictory) perspectives/POVs, and that's where you'd have to take a call on which one you feel makes the most sense.

All the best!

Hi Paul,

I am currently offering 30 min resume review sessions for $139 (discounted from regular price of $159), and would be happy to work with you on your resume. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D., so I am intimately familiar with the academic world, and have a lot of experience in working with advanced degree candidates to present their academic experiences and qualifications in a way that best appeals to recruiters in management consulting. Feel free to reach out if interested.

Hi Paul,

many coaches offer a CV review at discounted rates (or high-level freebies) as you can see from the comments. It might be good to get a few opinions and see where they converge. This will give you a general sense if your resume is “any good” for consulting.

But you probably also know the saying of too many cooks spoiling the broth - so stay focused when you are actually adjusting your resume. Otherwise you might get pulled into too many different directions.
