Hi,

I’m taking part in the quantumblack process and just had my technical experience interview as the second part of the first round of interviews. it is going to be a 30 minute interview where I should briefly talk about a data science project that I did in the industry.

But, on the second round of interviews, I will have another technical experience interview (this time 60 minutes) where I should present a deck with a technical project that I did in the industry as well.

I have one project from which I got a lot of prizes, and I would say that this was by far the best project of my seven year career. Should I present this project on the upcoming interview and repeat it on the second round interview? Or should I present another project on this stage and risk maybe not passing to the second round of interviews? Do the interviewers of the first round communicate with the second rounds interviewers when it’s time to make an offer?

Hi there,

Don't present the same story.

Interviewers talk with each other.

It doesn't look good on your if you have the same story.

Imagine if you were the interviewer and what you would think if the candidate provided the same example. You might think that they don't have other examples to consider / that their experience is limited.

At the end of the day, it's not only about the technical intricacy of the solution, but also how you went about creating the necessary buy-in to deliver on the solution.

So if for your second example is not as impressive from a technical standpoint, try to compensate on the other.

Best,
Cristian

Thank you! I clarified with HR and I was told that they do all meet up, even though those are different rounds, before making a decision. Would you recommend me to present my best project on this first technical experience interview or on the second (which also is going to have PEI)? Thank you again!

Always lead with the best. There might be no second round otherwise.

Hi there,

Honestly, it depends.

It depends on the wording that they have used to describe this process. When in doubt, you can clarify with HR.

If they don't clarify, I would try to think of a different data project for your story, and then use this multiple prizes one for the technical experience interview. If you really only have this one, then, well, you don't have a choice!

Typically it's fine to do so but ask HR for guidance on whether it needs to be two separate projects for the interviews or not.

Hi there,

agree with Udayan here - should normally not be a problem to talk about the same project in different rounds, but worthwhile checking with HR to get clarity.

Wish you all the best!

Regards, Andi
