McKinsey Turnaround Post Final Round (Practice Specific)

What is the expected turnaround time for practice specific recruitment post-final round interview at McK (US based)?

I’ve heard McK is relatively quick with both positive and negative feedback; however, I interviewed a week ago (as of today) and haven’t heard back.

Anyone able to shed light on what is likely occurring behind the scenes? Should I wait another week before following up with my recruiter?

You CAN make it! | xMckinsey | 1.5h session | +200 sessions |Free 20-Minute Call

Hello there!

The time varies a lot, but a range would be 2-4 weeks. Feel free to reach out to HR anyway.

Best,

Hello ! Turn around can be quite quick (I had my offer at the end of my last interview), but its not uncommon to take 1week or a bit more. If you don't hear back within the next few days, I think you can reach out to the HR.

Hey there!

For McKinsey US, especially in practice-specific roles (e.g. Digital, Operations, Risk, etc.), the typical post–final round response time is 2–7 business days. Since it's been a week, you're at the upper end of that range — but not yet beyond.

Practice-specific hiring might be a little slower than generalist hiring because there are more stakeholders (e.g. coordinating with practice leadership, headcount confirmation).

What's likely happening:

=> Your feedback may be under review by the practice or leadership team.
=>  They may be coordinating with other candidates or waiting for a decision slot.
=> Logistics like approvals or offer packaging could be adding time if you’re moving toward a positive result.

It’s perfectly acceptable to follow up now with your recruiter — just keep the tone polite and professional. Something like:
"Hi [Name], I hope you're doing well. I wanted to respectfully follow up on where my application is at following the final round of last week. I am still very keen on the opportunity and would greatly value any information that you can offer.".
