Hey there,

Yes, I've done work in SHaPE with McKinsey, with work coming from UK and also in Africa.

SHaPE in McKinsey is very broad, as it covers Public Sector, Social and Health Care work, as well as intersections with these mentioned and other industries. But generally I found there to be many exciting and interesting projects in London and across Europe.

That said, I think some of the most exciting SHAPE projects are in Kenya and other countries in Africa, to the extent that many Consultants around the world that do SHaPE look to do short-term transfers to Kenya to work on these projects. The great thing with these projects are how they are directly linked to Government objectives and strategies and the impact and contributions made are easily seen and felt!

As for the teams, there are many exceptional people in McKinsey and great leaders in SHaPE.

Feel free to DM me if you'd like to know more

All the best

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, as almost all coaches are ex-consultants, you are unlikely to get an up-to-date perspective. Instead, I would advise you to contact current SHaPE consultants in the London office and ask them about their experiences.
  • Moreover, no matter how many perspectives you gather, in the end it only matters if you like the people and the projects, so I would highly advise you to just apply, hopefully get an offer and see for yourself.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming McKinsey pre-interview assessment and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Mckinsey SHAPE Delivery Consultant Salaries - in my screening interiview HR asked me my expectations and current sallary. My current is much lower than what they would offer and I'm worried what I said as my expectation is much lower than what they do - is that a disadvantage.
