Hello community!

I am wondering if you know what's the ban if you don't pass mckinsey digital assessment at London office? I mean how long is it, especially for BA position? I've heard ban differs from office to office.

Thank you!

Hi there,

It differs from office to office, firm to firm, but usually it's between 6 and 12 months.

The reality is that these firms don't have integrated data bases to check whether you've applied already and when. I've heard of candidates applying with different email addresses to a different office of the same firm and passing the screening.

Hey there,

Depends if for full-time or internship.

  • Internship is usually 12 months
  • FT is 18-24 months

Both can be shortened if

  • you have significant improvements on your resume.
  • you network with senior leaders of McKinsey and get a referral.

Cheers,

Florian

Hi there,

Most likely it will be for a minimum of 12 months. In terms of the game specifically, a few candidates told me that HR mentioned they would have kept the score for 12 months from the day of the assessment.

I would recommend to contact HR to get confirmation on the exact period.

Best,

Francesco

Hello!

Unfortunately, you are right: there is a ban.

The reason for the ban is that you need to add "relevant" experience to your CV, and you need at least 12-18 months for that (as BA as you mention, in some cases it can be in the lower range, hence 12 months).

A referral would for sure help, but after the required months.

Don´t give up!

Cheers,

Clara

Hi there,

Generally the ban is around 12-18 months.

During that time you ideally want to show career progress as well (promotion, additional experience, etc.)
