MBB math questions resources

Hello,

Apart from casebooks, is there a place where I can drill math structuring questions? I’m looking for paid courses/materials that really have med-advanced math in them. Not math drills and calculations, but more towards MBB type questions

I think I have exhausted most case books by now, and I’m looking for something new

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • For math structuring, I would advise you to focus on materials that mix math with real business context. My personal favorite is the Integrated Reasoning section from GMAT practice resources.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming pre-interview assessments and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi,
great that you’re looking to go beyond casebooks.

For structured, MBB-style math (not just drills), consider the following:

  • CaseCoach and Crafting Cases: Both offer paid resources with a strong focus on math structuring and real-case logic
  • PrepLounge’s advanced cases: Some include layered, business-style math
  • Victor Cheng’s LOMS: Focuses on thinking through math logically, not just solving
  • IGotAnOffer: Has good practice sets that emphasize structuring and interpretation

You might also try working with a coach for tailored math-heavy case practice if you’ve truly exhausted the standard resources. Let me know if you'd like recommendations.

Rocketblocks has excellent exhibits and drills with CaseCoach also proving useful. I found consistently practing for 10-15 mins/day over the course of 1-2 months to be most effective, interspersed with case interviews (1-2x/day) to materailly increase my quant analysis speed and accuracy. Just remember that for interviews there is a hygiene factor of passing the analytics and that you want to come across as a human instead of purely a case machine. Cheers!

Hi,

I do want to ask, if you've exhausted the casebooks, what are you looking for? I think you should ask yourself the following:

  • Are there specific mistakes I am making? e.g. Break-even, fraction multiplication?
  • Why am I making them? e.g. I don't read clearly? I struggle with understanding what I am reading?

Then concentrate on finding those specific drills because otherwise you're practicing for the sake of it.

Please don't burn yourself out :)

There are dozens of casebooks out there.

If you’ve already worked through all of them and still feel unprepared, more drills likely won’t solve the problem—something in your approach may need to change.

Feel free to reach out if you need help.

Best,

Alberto

Hi,

I would definitely recommend CaseCoach.

The best way to improve your math skills is by practicing 15m on a daily basis. You can just Google "Quick math drills" to get the right source.

If you already exhaused case books (there are dozens of them), not sure why you need extra preparation and wonder if that's the best use of your preparation time right now vs. other areas where you may need improvement.

Hey there,

For math-focused courses on the PrepLounge platform, you can specifically look into the Math Coaching and Math Drill Sessions offered there. These will help you practice and perfect the quantitative aspects of MBB case interviews, focusing on structuring and solving complex math problems.

Additionally, you can look for experienced coaches (like me) who specialize in math for consulting. You can book tailored sessions to address specific areas you're struggling with, or even work through complex quantitative cases in real time.

I hope this helps!

Best regards,
Alessa
