Is it possible to join MBB as a marketing graduate?

I have Masters degree in marketing. Is that sufficient to join McKinsey, Bain or BCG as an Associate or do I need to go to business school?

First a clarification: I assume that when you say "associate" you refer to the entry level position right after university (that's the name of the position at BCG, at McK is Business Analyst)

If that is the case, while I agree that it depends on the country, I think is possible to enter even without work experience.

If by "associate" instead you mean the position after the entry level one, then degree doesn't matter much anymore (it makes it easier or harder, true) and instead work experience becomes more relevant.

Hope it helps,

Andrea

Interesting thought. I did my B.Sc. in Media Management (Management, IT & Media) at a University of Applied Sciences (More practical than University). I have work experience as Product Owner / Business Analyst (4 years) and now started in BigTech as a Solution Consultant in Customer Experience. Now, I think, I need a Target School Master / MBA, in order to qualify for MBB. Would say, that with my background, I would need a Target School Master or Master at all, to be relevant for MBB, especially McK?

Hi,

If you don't have any work experience, it is not sufficient. I heard only about a couple European countries where it may be sufficient to become a Fellow Associate (pre Asc role)
