Decision Round

Hello,

I was told my interview feedback was under review and that they would be in touch next week.

I also asked a friend at the firm to check on the status and he said that he understood that the interviewers haven't debriefed yet.

Can any positivity/ negativity in terms of outcome be discerned?

Hi,

No, it cannot be discerned. It simply means the interviewers hasn't debriefed yet.

  • This happens sometimes because your interviewers are on on going projects and there are likely countless other priorities and fires that are on their immediate mind
  • Sometimes it's also hard to find a common slot between interviewers to debrief.

Don't think too much about this - wait for the week to pass and if they still haven't gotten back, follow up gently.

All the best!

Hi there,

Q: Can any positivity/ negativity in terms of outcome be discerned?

I don’t think you can really deduct anything positive or negative from this. There could be multiple reasons why the interviewers have not debriefed unrelated to your performance.

Although I understand your desire to get a clear answer, the only thing you can do now is to act on what is in your control, that is (i) prepare for other interviews/ apply to other companies and/or (ii) wait for the results.

Good luck!

Francesco

None.

This is totally normal.

Sometimes it just takes a while until the interviewers manage to find a common time when they can connect, discuss your case and take a decision.

How long they take to do that does not reflect on you. It rather reflects on whatever issue they are dealing with (client-wise or internal).

So try not to overthink it. Sharing with you two reading to keep you busy in the meantime about how to be an effective consultant in your first year:

Based on the information you provided, it's difficult to determine the outcome of your interview at this point. It's not uncommon for firms to take some time to review interview feedback and conduct debrief sessions before making a final decision. I would recommend staying positive and patient while waiting for their response. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to ask.

Hi there,

This is something normal and the most probable reason is that interviews haven't had the time yet to sit together and debrief on your interviews. Just be a little patient here :)

Best,

Alberto

Nope.

You have no control over this and you need to let it play out!

Keep applying to other firms and keep preparing for other interviews.

You'll find out when they decide to tell you.

Hi,

you have to wait for the official feedback. Delays can happen due to scheduling conflicts among the interviewers and HR for the debriefing round. Happens regularly.

Fingers crossed
