I recently completed the McKinsey Solve game about 3 weeks ago and am yet to hear back. I was wondering if only the successful candidates have heard back yet and if all candidates are invited to Solve?

Hi!

It will vary per office and per intake.

If you are part of a scheduled intake ( and so many people were invited to do the SOLVE), then you will likely wait longer - 3 weeks is unusual, but a month should be max.

I would defintely reach out to the recruiting team/HR to confirm.

Follow-up with rectuiting/HR is always recommended - they shouldn't mind.

Additionally, note that timelines for Solve update can vary - but regardless even unsuccessful candidates will get an update accordingly. So no update means no update in most cases.

Hey there 😊

After taking the Solve assessment, it's quite common to experience a waiting period of 2–4 weeks, depending on the office and role. Typically, only shortlisted candidates are invited to take Solve, so if you received the invite, that’s already a positive signal.

However, only successful candidates usually hear back after Solve — if you haven’t heard anything after 3+ weeks, it may be worth following up politely with the recruiter to check the status. Don’t stress though — timelines can vary, and not hearing back yet doesn’t necessarily mean rejection.

Let me know if you’d like help drafting a follow-up note or preparing for next steps 😊

Best,
Alessa 🌟

Hi there,

It doesn’t mean nothing, don’t worry until you get back from them.

Feel free to reach out to HR as 3 weeks have already passed.

Good luck!

Best,

Mari

Hi there,

That is definitely on the longer end but if you look through some recent threads here, it seems to be a common experience for McK Middle East - likely they are unsure about hiring targets, putting everyone on the waiting list for a bit.

Fingers crossed!

It can take 3-4 weeks to get an answer. In principle, all of them will get an answer at about the same time.
