Hi all, how is BCG Operations Practice in Dubai? Any views on the people, projects etc.? In addition, do you know any other firms that specifically focus on Operations in the region? (Operations include EBIDTA improvement via procurement improvement, process enhancements etc.)

Question on operations practice in the Middle East

Hi there,
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:
- First of all, as almost all coaches are ex-consultants, you are unlikely to get an up-to-date perspective. Instead, I would advise you to reach out to BCG operations consultants in the Dubai office and have a (virtual) coffee chat with them.
- Moreover, I would advise you to do your own research on other consulting firms. All major consulting firms have relatively strong operations practices, and there are a lot of specialized consulting firms as well. It really depends on what you are looking for.
You can find more on this topic here: Boutique consulting companies.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming applications, pre-interview assessments and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen

Hey!
From my experience, including working on a project at BCG Dubai, the Operations Practice there is quite strong, with a focus on large-scale transformations, procurement optimization, and process improvements across industries like energy, healthcare, and government. The team is highly capable, with a mix of global and regional experts. Besides BCG, McKinsey’s Operations practice is also very active in the Middle East, particularly through its implementation-focused RTS team. Additionally, firms like Kearney and Oliver Wyman have solid operations capabilities in the region. Happy to share more insights if needed! ?

Hey there,
BCG has a strong Operations practice in Dubai. So to do McKinsey and many other top firms. Really you can take your pick from all of them
In terms of work, this is really wide and varied! They do everything from process efficiencies, organizational redesign, Capital excellence, supply chain optimization, business restructuring, service operations, even digital implementation, and I could go on and on and on. They even do Supplier Negotiation optimization for clients which I find pretty cool!
Feel free to reach out, I'd be happy to talk through more of what these firms do in their Ops practices, and could possibly link you with my contact in the firms in these practices too
All the best
