Hello!

Congrats with the EY interview! Although I don´t have recent experience from coachees particularly with them, what I can tell you is that is pretty standard when it ocmes to Big4:

You have 2 main workstreams ahead:

1. FIT INTERVIEW

The "Integrated FIT guide for MBB" has been recently published in PrepLounge´s shop (https://www.preplounge.com/en/shop/tests-2/integrated-fit-guide-for-mbb-34)

It provides an end-to-end preparation for all three MBB interviews, tackling each firms particularities and combining key concepts review and a hands-on methodology. Following the book, the candidate will prepare his/her stories by practicing with over 50 real questions and leveraging special frameworks and worksheets that guide step-by-step, developed by the author and her experience as a Master in Management professor and coach. Finally, as further guidance, the guide encompasses over 20 examples from real candidates.

You can see plenty of reviews from candidates who purchased it already.

Feel free to PM me for disccount codes for the Integrated FIT Guide, since we still have some left from the launch

2. BUSINESS CASE

You don´t have any more time to the classics of Viktor Cheng, "Case in point" book, etc. You need to get hands on asap:

1. Practice cases with partners asap, as many as you can do.Find experienced partners who can provide a good feedback

2. Practice your math skills, both in your cases and with ad hoc exercisess, such as:

1. Multiplying double digit numbers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ndkkPZYJHo

2. Leveraging math tools (Mimir math for iOS), Math tool on Viktor Cheng website to practice

Furthermore, you should practice as much as you can, and ensure that you cover:

1. Profitability cases- basic profitability framework.

2. Idea generation cases: for any specif issue

3. Growth cases: market penetration, new product launch, product mix change, etc.

4. Pricing cases

5. M&A cases

6. Valuation cases

7. Value chain cases

Given you are under this much time contraint, consider working with a coach to foster speed and ensure you have a tailored plan to be very targeted. PM me interested!

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara

They are probably trying to assess to which sub-service line within EY-Parthenon you would fit best - corporate growth (strategy projects and commercial due diligence), transaction strategy execution (post merger integration plan, carve outs, and transformation PMO), turnaround & restructuring / value creation (financial and operational restructuring, tactical optimization initiatives).

You should study a bit about this and have a view on which one you would prefer and would fit best.

Hello Pedro, I have a final interview round with a Partner, which is a behavioral fit interview. Can you please tell me what I should expect from this call? Is it going to be tough fit interview or is the partner trying to sell the firm? What's your take on this?

Pedro on May 06, 2022

If it is a corporate growth role, you should expect behavioral + case. Otherwise it’s a just a behavioral interview (and yes, it’s mostly an interview).

Hi there,

First of all, congrats to making it to the interview stage!

These HR screening calls are typically used to..

  1. ensure you are really who your CV claims to be (not kidding here - this is real)
  2. validate your profile & motivation
  3. verify that your profile / qualifications match with the role in question
  4. see, which sub-team / service you may align best with.

This means you will likely see typical personal FIT questions along the lines of the following…

  • Your motivation for the role you applied to
  • Your motivation to join EY
  • Your background / past experience (CV walk through)
  • Strengths & weaknesses, behavioral patterns in certain situations
  • Comp expectations (occasionally, but often comes later on the process)

Do not expect any detailed case / technical questions at this stage - those will come, once you make it past HR screening.

Hope this helps - feel free to reach out, if you have further questions.

Regards, Andi

Hi there,

First, good luck!

(Side note: I can't help but notice you seem to be behind 3 identical “screening” questions today, just for different companies. You're overcomplicating things! You need to prepare in the same way for any screening call!)

  1. You need to be really clear on "Why consulting" as well as "why the company". You should also be ready with a resume walkthrough. More than that, you should be ready with questions of your own and be ready to talk through really any experience on your resume.
  2. Generally FIT answers are longer and more in depth. "Why consulting" would be 1 min in an interview and 20 seconds on a screening call. Additionally, you need to have personal stories prepared for the FIT interview but not for screening

Here are some questions to be prepared for: https://www.preplounge.com/en/tell-me-about-yourself-interview-question

And here is a great prior Q&A: https://www.preplounge.com/en/consulting-forum/mckinseys-phone-screening-case-9161

#1 rated MBB & McKinsey Coach

Hi there,

It's not clear from your answer whether this is a HR / recruiter type call where you are meant to find out more about the job and the application process or an actual hiring interview. If it's the former, then you should rather think what question you have for them, rather than the other way around.
