For example, if I'm based in the US and doing a US-based project, could I work remotely on a project from Canada? What are the policies like at your firms? And how frequently are people going in to the office / client site these days vs. working from home?
Do MBBs allow remote work from abroad? Current frequency of WFH?

Hi there,
No policies - it’s generally back to the client in most cases, mixed set up in others, and fully remote for a small rest!
However, don’t waste your time trying to predict this more accurately. Totally depends on project scope, team and client preferences, region, etc.
Best of luck!

Hi there,
usually officially you are not allowed to live abroad vs. your office, which is due to the tax reasons. There can be exceptions, but it is not a norm. If you are lucky that your projects are remote, you can reside in different country temporarily, but I wouldn't share it officially.

Hi Anon,
In general consultancies are moving back to working at the client site. You may get a WFH or work from HQ setup, but I truly would not bet on it…if you're not prepared to travel then you should not apply!

The trend is towards more client site in-person interaction. Depending on the project you could have WFH opportunities which is becoming a rarity
Thanks

This is not at all likely especially at McKinsey. The entire way of operating for them is to embed themselves into the client and become part of the client team. This usually involves traveling to the client site and working from there. It would be strange to continue to allow remote work these days and I have not heard of this being the case in North America for sure.
