Hi, how best to translate experience in consumer research to TMT consulting?
Consumer Research / TMT

Hi there,
This is indeed an interesting question which is probably relevant for a lot of users, thus I am happy to provide my perspective on it:
- To translate your experience in consumer research to TMT (technology, media, and telecommunications) consulting, you can highlight your skills in market analysis and customer insights, and how you have used these skills to help businesses understand their target markets and make informed decisions. You can also emphasize your expertise in research methods and data analysis, as well as your ability to communicate findings and recommendations effectively to clients.
In case you want a more detailed discussion on what to do in your specific situation, please feel free to contact me directly.

The three I can think of are:
- Survey and research experience: Consumer research experience itself is very relevant on TMT cases, especially Media (where it is bread and butter).
- Working with data: Highlighting experience in working with data quickly and accurately, with good attention to detail, will translate well on data heavy TMT projects.
- Presentation and drafting: Any experience with presenting results from research to stakeholders will be good to highlight.

Hi there,
Can you please succinctly describe what you have done? This is a pretty difficult question to answer without more context.
It also sounds like you're trying to write a resume, correct? In which case I highly recommend investing in a coach!

Hi,
I would say that you can try and make your consumer research relevant mostly for B2C TMT.
- Focus on bringing out key skills / activities which show your ability to understand e.g. pricing, customer preferences, customer journey, persona etc
It wouldn't really be applicable for B2B TMT.

Hello!
What do you mean with “translate” experience?
Cheers, Clara
