Just discovered this website and am impressed with the caliber of people contributing here. A whole ecosystem of ex-consultants.
Question. In thinking about BCG as an experienced hire with over 20+ years of experience, I have been asked which of the outfits I'd like to start with. In my broad reading from the outside, it seems BCG Digital Ventures is a separate entity with a focus on taking an idea and making it a business, while Platinion and core Consulting also race to becomg more digital with Platinion being as close as possible to the likes of Accenture (execution).
I definitely want to be close to execution, to see things done, but also don't want to be distant from setting overall strategic roadmaps. Welcome any insight from people who're eiher at BCG and have seen the nuanced differences up close, or those who are more familiar with these realities even as external observers. I have been approached by MBB for a while but have had blinders on.
Many thanks!
Thank you Vlad. Makes sense. Does Platinion get the high caliber consulting gigs as well or is it only about implementation? Underlying that question is the real question: is Platinion looked upon as a lesser sibling, in the way BTO used to be in early days? I know that's become McK Digital now and over time I suppose Platinion could also be that way. But for now, is it on par with the core consulting Digital practice?
