Practice makes perfect.
Anything can be learned, especially consulting cases.
My approach, which I have successfully implemented with more than 20 students, consists of an initial diagnosis of the candidate in the case study, and subsequent cases that tackle specific areas of development.
I genuinely believe that becoming comfortable with solving cases can be achieved by being exposed to all possible scenarios or structures, and growing the confidence to be able to tackle them on the spot and show:
- Solid problem structuring skills
- Adequate extraction of all the information required from the interviewer
- Good analytical skills
- Great communication
- Natural cultural fit!
The last point being super important and often disregarded: the fit does not only stop at the first 15min of the interview, but is also evaluated throughout the case study in the different traits that get identified through the communication skills.
Looking forward to help you get exposed to new cases, and build the confidence needed to ace the interview.
