Which McKinsey Solve Prep Course Should I Buy?

I'm about to finish my sophomore year, and my profile, casing, and behaviorals are very well in-line with McKinsey. I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendation on which prep course to get, or even if I should get one in the first place. I just had a bad experience with Oliver Wyman that I just want to make sure doesn't happen again with the firm I'm the most excited about. If anyone has any insights, that would be greatly appreciated!

Others may disagree but I honestly don’t think it’s worth buying anything to prep for McK solve. Have a look on CaseBasix if you want to do some practice for free

I would instead suggest using that money to engage a coach to help you prep for interviews. Let me know if you need any support.

Hey there,

I think Francesco (a coach here on PrepLounge) has got excellent material for McKinsey Solve's Prep Course. Also, I know Deniz (also a coach here and founder of Prepmatter) also has a good program!

Without knowing much about your preparation, I do think it would be a good idea to give focus to Solve preparation to increase your chances of making it through the Solve assessment round. Many candidates underestimate this step of the recruiting journey and get eliminated here and don't even get through to 1st round interviews

All the best

hey there!

I’d recommend investing in a coach for 1:1 mock interviews—that’s usually the fastest and most effective way to improve. Having personalized feedback really helps you identify and work on your weaknesses. Also, practicing with peers on PrepLounge can be a great supplement to get more case practice and different perspectives.

If you do decide to get a prep course, make sure it fits your learning style and offers plenty of interactive practice rather than just videos or materials. Good luck!

Hi there!

There are lots of free resources online as well that are worth trying before you purchase prep courses for Solve.

Try to make the most out of those and if you still have a gap, there are a few good options available on the market. Get guided by the reviews.

Best,

I can't give you an opinion on best value for money, but I believe Francesco has a good prep course.
