Difference between PrepLounge and Case Coach Cases?

Hi,

I'm considering getting Prep Lounge's subscription. I am currently subscribed to Case Coach, but I find that the cases there are more intuitive/flows better than the ones here (or at least the ones available for free)

Will it become much better with the premium subscription?
Thanks !

Hi,

I fully understand your point of view. Generally, the cases (intro, framework, industry, solution...) should be similar. The reason why some cases on Preplounge are less intuitive is because they have been up-loaded by different coaches, which lacks consistency. The cases available under the Preplounge subscription are better structured and definitely an added value on top of those available on Casecoach.

Feel free to reach out if you want to do a real MBB mock case.

hey!

I think generally PrepLounge and CaseCoach serve different prep styles. CaseCoach is more structured and closer to MBB format — clean prompts, clear frameworks, and polished exhibits. PrepLounge, especially free cases, can be hit-or-miss in quality since many are user-submitted. I have my own cases which I do in my interviews which are MBB style.

Let me know if you need support!

Hi OP, why not practice both styles? Eventually what you get in the actual interview will have similarties AND dissimilarities to anything to experience on the both the platforms (and more).

Written cases can capture only a fraction of the experience of a real interview. For example, in written cases (on any platform) - you always have a logical ending and a systematic flow (as you quote about CaseCoach). However, a real interview will hardly be systematic and free-flowing. Most times, you won't even be reaching a logical and satisfying end. And that will just become more vague in advanced rounds. Most advanced interviewers will be able to manouver the case in different directions depending on how they want to test you.

I always recommend my candidates to pick up "any" case, solve it once as per the script, but then solve it 2-3 times more - each time taking a different storyline and conjuring up different data, different frameworks, and different conclusions. This helps you become more agile, flexible, and adaptible in your casing - something that is most crucial for a good interview.

Hence, quality is more important than quantity in case practice. 20 cases done 3-ways each is better than doing 60 cases and not looking back at them.

Solving from multiple platforms will give you wider content experience.

Solving with multiple case partners will give you better adaptability to different interviewer styles & manners.

Solving with coaches will help you identify areas of improvement o excel and succeed in the interview.

Hi there great question - I am on both platforms as I got free access to Case Coach as part of MBB interview process :)

Case Coach website is moer targeted around MBB candidate with detailed training materials on case interview, behavior interview and drills into each component of the case including structure, math and conclusion etc

I have coached 40+ cases on Case Coach site but I find PrepLounge more inclusive and user friendly, let me know if you want to chat more

Cheers,

Thanks for your question. It’s definitely an important comparison!

One key advantage of PrepLounge is our pricing model: we offer a one-time payment of €69 for a full year of premium access, rather than a subscription. By comparison, CaseCoach charges €116 for six months.

Our case library is also very extensive – we currently offer over 200 cases. Importantly, these are not “user-submitted” in the sense that just anyone can upload them. All cases are either created by PrepLounge, developed by experienced coaches based on real interview insights, or provided directly by consulting firms, often used exactly like this in actual interviews.

While the cases may vary more in style and structure, that’s actually a strength. Since you never know what kind of case or interviewer you'll encounter in real interviews, being exposed to a wide range of formats helps you build the flexibility and confidence to tackle anything.

Another valuable feature: you can ask questions directly below each case. These Q&As are visible to all users, and our coaches are usually very quick to respond, which helps clarify anything you're unsure about and enhances your learning.

CaseCoach is also a strong platform with a more standardized approach. But if you're looking for variety, long-term access, and a highly engaged community with expert feedback, PrepLounge is a very compelling alternative.
